Sourdough Evening Demonstration @ Stickybeaks Cafe

26th July - 28th July @ 7:00pm - 9:00pm

| £39

A demo for beginners as well as existing wild yeast/sourdough bakers who would like to expand their knowledge and repertoire. Baking breads naturally using a wild yeast/sourdough culture is perfect for those of us who are discerning and hungry but have busy lives. This demo will show you how quickly you can be making artisan style breads with less than 15 minutes hands-on time.
Baking with a sourdough/wild yeast culture is the only way forward if you want your homemade breads to be NATURAL, NUTRITIOUS, FLAVOURSOME and HEALTHY.
The demonstration will include a ‘quick’ 2 day New York Sourdough; a simple wild yeast dough that can be stored in the fridge for days to whip out to create in just minutes: pizza, a summer schiacciata stuffed with onion, mozzarella and peppers or crunchy barley pittas.
Hilary will show you how to effortlessly store a culture when you aren’t baking and then how to prepare it for action when you are ready to bake. You will also find out how easy it is to keep dough in the fridge to bake fresh each day.
If you don’t already have a culture and would like one her 17 year old, Sourdough culture will be available for sale. Also signed copies of her recently published book ‘Sourdough Suppers – A Year in the Life of a Wild Yeast Culture’ packed with bread and simple, informal, seasonal recipes will be available on the evening.
On the evening sourdough breads will be served with some other tasty snacks from her book.
