Bread Making for Beginners @ Divertimenti, Kensington

The most part of this hands-on workshop will introduce you to the essentials of making, delicious healthy breads using commercial yeast. You will learn to make a typical daily loaf, rolls, a focaccia and a seasonal stuffed flat bread. Also Hilary will demonstrate a delicious quick cracker bread and pizza that you can make with the dough you take home. Using this newly acquired knowledge of the simple stages of creating great bread Hilary will give you an incite to the differences and benefits between making bread using a commercial yeast and a sourdough culture and will introduce you to her 20 year old sourdough culture.
This class is especially suitable for busy people – the best bread requires the least amount of your time. Through guided hands on tuition and demonstrationn you will learn the basic stages and techniques of making bread, how to choose good flours, seeds and grains, how to get the most from commercial yeast be it fresh, dried or a sourdough culture.
You will also learn how you can store your dough in the fridge for several days, giving the opportunity to have fresh bread every day with little effort.
